Moment — Moment of a force

Definition : Moment is force x perpendicular distance to the pivot

its a vector quantity because it has clockwise or anticlockwise moment

SI unit : Nm

Explanation : Moment of a force about a point will cause an object to turn. so we say moment cause turning effect.

Factors that affects moment 

• force
• distance

if you want the force to be lower, we increase its distance to the pivot and vice versa.
