Reflection of light — Describe

Question
Question

How is an image formed by a plane mirror, and what are its characteristics?

Answer

Light rays from the object reflect off the mirror obeying the law of reflection, and the reflected rays appear to diverge from a point behind the mirror, where the image is formed. The image is virtual (cannot be captured on a screen), the same size as the object, and appears to be the same perpendicular distance behind the mirror as the object is in front of it.
