Refraction of light — Define
Question
Question
What is meant by the terms normal, angle of incidence and angle of refraction?
Answer
The normal is an imaginary line drawn at right angles to the boundary between two media at the point where a ray meets it. The angle of incidence is the angle between the incident ray and the normal, measured in the first medium. The angle of refraction is the angle between the refracted ray and the normal, measured in the second medium.
