Simple phenomena of magnetism — Describe
Question
Question
Give examples of the uses of permanent magnets and electromagnets.
Answer
Permanent magnets are used where a constant magnetic field is needed, e.g. in compasses, loudspeakers, and fridge door seals. Electromagnets are used where the magnetism must be switched on/off or varied in strength, e.g. in relays, electric bells, and cranes for lifting and sorting scrap iron/steel.
