Series and parallel circuits — State

Question
Question

State the advantages of connecting lamps in parallel, rather than in series, in a lighting circuit.

Answer

Each lamp receives the full supply voltage, so all lamps operate at their normal brightness regardless of how many are connected. Each lamp can be switched on or off independently of the others. If one lamp fails or is removed, the circuit is not broken, so the remaining lamps continue to work.
