Melting, boiling and evaporation — Describe
Question
Question
What are the differences between boiling and evaporation?
Answer
Boiling occurs at one fixed temperature (the boiling point), takes place throughout the whole liquid with bubbles forming inside it, happens quickly, and needs a continuous supply of energy. Evaporation occurs at any temperature below the boiling point, takes place only at the surface of the liquid, happens more slowly, and causes cooling of the remaining liquid.
